The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit have released a bulletin to announce the piloting of a new FREE for businesses to use in order to detect suspicious cyber activity.
The tool called Police CyberAlarm acts as an alert system by monitoring the traffic seen by an organisation’s connection over the internet. It will detect and provide regular reports of suspected malicious activity, enabling organisations to minimise their vulnerabilities and protect themselves.
Available to small businesses, charities, academia, local authorities/councils and law enforcement get up-to-date knowledge of attack types and trends which is an absolute key to having a robust defence. Members of Police CyberAlarm become part of the wider UK cyber defence network, sharing collated data with Police for analysis at local, regional and national levels to identify trends, react to emerging threats and identify, pursue and prosecute cyber criminals.
The only requirement is that your organisation has a static IP Address.
