Cumbrian artisan producer of condiments, pickles, relishes and preserves, Hawkshead Relish, won an award on Tuesday afternoon (13th July) at the inaugural Town and County Business Champions awards.
Director Jonathan Robb attended the awards lunch held in Kensington, London, where he discovered the company had won through to collect the Cumbria Business Champions award, one of 23 awards presented.
The Town and County awards launched earlier this year highlight the achievements of the UK’s very best micro and small businesses and celebrate the success of the people behind those businesses, many of whom have been instrumental in continuing to keep community spirit alive in their local areas in the last 12 months.
Jonathan Robb, commented: ‘’Hawkshead Relish strives to be an integral part of the local community, which we are immensely proud of. Like many rural businesses, we care passionately about supporting those around us by creating opportunities to help keep our local economy strong and together. That might be creating jobs, supporting the local school or just simply being there to lend a helping hand. But whatever we do, we do it because we love where we live and work, winning this award recognises a little of what we set out to do as a business within that community.’’
Awards director Damian Cummins said: “The Business Champions are all about the story of our small local businesses and all that they do in their communities. These are truly local, transparent awards, celebrating local success stories and the support they provide to their communities.”
