Lake District luxury estate agent AshdownJones has found a new way to celebrate the South Lakes by sharing their daily ‘Lockdown Lessons’ from local businesses.
Usually found selling the area’s most unique and prestigious homes, since the lockdown was announced, the family-run business have been sharing daily ‘Lockdown Lessons’ from other businesses in the area across their social platforms. The sessions are live streamed using video conferencing software on AshdownJones’ Facebook page.
The topics have ranged from how to make your own face creams to cook-a-longs, wine tastings, tips on cutting your own fringe and photography lessons to name a few.
Lockdown Lesson no. 22 (on 17 April) featured our very own Sue Howorth who gave her 5 top tips to help businesses kickstart after the lockdown. Each class is led by a South Lakes expert in their field and to date the videos have had over 30,000 views. Many local businesses have taken part so far, and AshdownJones will have shared fifty different businesses’ in these Lockdown Lessons by the 15th May.
AshdownJones Co-Director Sam Ashdown explained more;
“We’re used to showing off this beautiful area but we understand that it’s not just the landscape that makes it such a desirable place to live, it’s the businesses and people too. Like so many others we wanted to find a way to help, and as we have large social media audiences who love the Lake District this seemed a natural way we could support those businesses who make our area special.
Sam added, “I’ve been amazed by the response. The businesses sharing their stories and expertise are making lots of new connections and keeping their profile up in a sensitive and helpful way, and a huge amount of people have been entertained, inspired to try something new as a result of the various Lockdown Lessons. It’s a difficult time for all right now and working together, collaborating and sharing is more important than ever.”
The AshdownJones Lockdown Lessons can be found here at 12 noon each weekday. Those interested in their business being featured should contact Sam Ashdown directly on [email protected]
