Cumbrian-based family business Freedom Chocolate have scooped Bronze and Silver Free-from Awards in the Confectionary and Artisan categories at the Presentation Party last month.

“We are thrilled to collect not just one, but two free-from awards. We pride ourselves in the fact that our chocolate is one of the only chocolates on the market which is free from all the top 14 allergens.

“Winning awards for two of our three Finalist flavours is absolutely wonderful and boosts our visibility and credibility in the eyes of potential customers” said Sarah Wood, co-owner of Freedom Chocolate.

The awards are totally independent and are the only awards in the UK for Free From food and drink. Winners were announced at the Presentation Party on the 27th May.

Freedom Chocolate was awarded a Bronze Award for their Dark Cherry in the Confectionary category and a Silver award for Dark in the Artisan category.

“There was a lot of competition, especially in the Confectionary category with some huge names in there, too. Winning these awards will help us cater to more chocolate lovers throughout the UK who need and want a truly free from, luxury chocolate.” said Simon, co-owner and chocolate maker at Freedom Chocolate.

Retail interest has already increased since the awards and Simon and Sarah are making plans for upscaling the business.
