We are once again pleased to invite you to our next FamBiz Afterlife event, in partnership with Rathbones, on Wednesday, 4th June, at Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa, Windermere.

Following our first peer group session, we heard from a range of family speakers, some who have stepped away from their businesses, others who are considering their own exit, and some who have fully let go, each sharing the emotional journey involved.

It became clear that while many questions remain unanswered, there was a shared recognition of the continued value of “wise counsel”, a role that is still respected and appreciated by the next generation and those now leading the business.

In our upcoming event, we’ll continue this important conversation with special guest Simon Berry, Chairman of English Lakes Hotels, Resorts & Venues.

And in addition, this time our event format will be a roundtable discussion which we will facilitate and lead on the topics of:

• The emotional and practical challenges of stepping away
• Lessons from those who have successfully navigated their exit
• Ideas for ensuring a smooth succession whilst maintaining the family legacy
• Finding new purpose beyond the business—philanthropy, investments, or advisory roles
• The benefits of a peer group for ongoing support when you need it

Following discussions, there will be a buffet lunch so we can continue our conversations and get to know our growing Afterlife peer group.
