Story Homes Donates Tablets to Local Primary School

In a bid to support local children with their home-schooling, Carlisle-headquartered housebuilder Story Homes has donated 15 Samsung tablets to students at Upperby Primary School in Carlisle.

Committed to supporting local communities, Story identified that the tablets were no longer required by the business and gifted the devices to the staff at Upperby Primary School – which is within walking distance to the housebuilder’s development The Ridings – to distribute to children who are most in need of the technology.

Hayley Blair, Sales Director at Story Homes said: “We know how hard home schooling can be, especially for those who don’t have access to the tools that can make it more manageable.

“The tablets will be given to the students at Upperby Primary School who need them most to support with home learning. Our local communities matter to us and we always endeavour to be a good neighbour to those who live close to our developments. Lockdown has been really tough on everyone, but especially children and their teachers, so we are thrilled to be able to offer a little help to these students with their education.”

Mrs Jose Hodgkins, Headteacher at Upperby Primary School said: “We are extremely grateful to Story Homes for the donation of these tablets, they will be a great help to our students who don’t have access to a laptop or computer at home.

“The technology for home schooling has been a challenge for everyone, and I speak on behalf of both the students and parents when I say these tablets will make a world of difference.”
