The team at Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café have announced the first of its fundraising events to raise £25,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
On Friday, 16th February, local quizmaster and Cedarbarn team member Michael Kipling will host a Quiz Night and Buffet at the Thornton Road venue in Pickering.
Cedarbarn founder, Karl Avison, 60, will make history when he becomes the first person to compete in the Ride of Their Lives for a second time when he takes part in the Macmillan Charity Raceday at York Racecourse on 15th June.
He is one of 12 amateur riders who will compete in the nine-furlong race around the iconic Knavesmire course for the first race of the Macmillan Charity Raceday that has raised over £10 million since it started in 1971.
Teams of up to six people will compete in a fun quiz and there will be prizes for the winning team. Tickets for the quiz cost £10 and include a finger buffet. They are available to buy from the Farm Shop or can be reserved by calling 01751 475614.
The Quiz Night is one of a series of fundraising events that include a Race Night, a Gala Dinner, a Family Fun Day with Dog Show, Pop-up Pilates with Wendy Harding in the Garden and a Yorkshire Gin Festival.
