The start of 2026 sees The Family Business Community continuing to enhance its support for the regions, with the appointment of Richard Cambray as Head of the Midlands region, following Peter Dunphy MBE’s appointment in London and the south east in 2025 as part of the same strategy.
Richard will also chair the newly formed Family Business Leadership Forum, launching in March. The Forum will bring together family business leaders from across the UK to share insight, encourage peer-to-peer learning, and help shape the future of the sector.
The official launch of The Family Business Community in the Midlands will take place at The Grand Hotel, Birmingham, on 3rd March. The event will introduce the organisation’s 2026 vision, showcase the support available to family businesses, and celebrate the vital role they play in the economy and local communities.
“Dave Clarkson, Co-Founder of The Family Business Community, said: “We are seeing growing demand across the UK for specialist, trusted support for family businesses at every stage of their journey. Richard’s depth of experience, combined with his genuine understanding of family structures, makes him ideally placed to lead our Midlands region and to chair our first national Family Business Leadership Forum.”
Richard qualified as a Chartered surveyor in the 1990’s and maintained his property links throughout his varied career, both inside and outside of his wider family business, which itself spans over 150 years. He champions the Family Business sector and wishes to “ensure that we are there for family businesses, whatever stage of their lifecycle, from growth and governance through to succession and transition, I am delighted to be joining The Family Business Community”
In his new role, Richard will lead the growth and development of The Family Business Community across the Midlands, raising awareness of the support available to family business owners and working closely with members across the organisation’s wider UK regions. Drawing on over 150 years of family business heritage, he will provide insight and guidance shaped by both professional expertise and first-hand experience of long-term family legacy’s.
