Marsh Commercial develop relationship with The Family Business Network

Marsh Commercial, a people-orientated commercial insurance business operating in the UK has announced a formal relationship with The Family Business Network.

Matthew Hodgson and Mark Daley from Marsh Commercial’s local Carlisle office first became involved with The Family Business Network in 2018 when Mr Hodgson attended some of the Networks Cumbria-based family business insight events and the annual Family Business Conference.

It was recognised by the pair that these events aligned with the firm’s aspirations to learn, understand and engage with their regional family businesses. Consequently, Marsh Commercial (known as Jelf at the time) became a sponsor of The Family Business Conference in 2019.  Mr Hodgson also participated in a peer group family business programme run by the Network.

Dave Clarkson, Co-Director of The Family Business Network said, “We’re delighted to be working more closely in an official capacity with Marsh Commercial.  It seemed like a natural progression following their years of support for family businesses in the region.

“We like the fact that Marsh Commercial are a real part of their local community and we look forward to working together with them in the North East and Cumbria”.

Fellow Director of The Family Business Network, Sue Howorth added, “We look to our associates for their trusted advice and specialist knowledge on behalf of our community of family businesses. A great example of this is within our Advisory Board Programme. This year we’re pleased to welcome John Noone from the Newcastle branch of Marsh Commercial as a board member, where he will be offering the benefit of his experience to help support regional family business owners”.

Mark Daley, Senior Vice President at Marsh Commercial, Lakes and North East, says “Marsh Commercial are delighted to announce our new arrangement with the Family Business Network. We recognised through previous collaborations the level of care, commitment and service provided by the Family Business Network. We hope that through our increased involvement, our risk based advisory expertise will enhance the breadth of support available to the family business community.”
