The vibrant initial line-up for The Family Business Conference 2019 has been announced. The conference which takes place on Thursday 10th October at The Shepherds in Carlisle is our fourth annual conference and will welcome family business owners from across the country.
The early line-up consists of; Cal Bailey of sixth-generation engineering firm NG Bailey, Eddie Black of family owned Eco Holdings and Solutions , the Marrs family of Carlisle Student Houses, Colin Bryan of Drayton Manor theme park, Ed Duckett of third generation building contractors Ducketts and Mairi Mickel 4th generation owning member of the Mactaggart & Mickel Group, a 93-year-old Scottish based Construction business.
Organiser and co-host Sue Howorth of The Family Business Network Ltd said “. I am absolutely delighted with the line-up so far, there is a real variety of family businesses being represented across a range of sectors. Each are at different points along their journey, some are the younger generation, some are now shareholders but have brought in non-family management, others are in the thick of handing over the reins to the next generation.
Co-host Dave Clarkson of Langleys Solicitors and The Family Business Network Ltd said we want the conference to address some key issues for family businesses this year and we are really focusing on the value that our speakers and activities bring to attendees and I am absolutely confident that those who attend will leave with new ideas, perspective and tools that they can use to enhance their own business.”
The day will be further enriched by a range of interactive pieces run by family business owners and experts such as Emma Porter of Story Contracting, Jacqui Jackson of Thomas Jardine & Co, Grant Seaton of The Cumberland and Paul Andrews of Family Business United.
