Dream Dubai Trip Made Possible by Local Business Support

A trip of a lifetime for Cumbrian children has been made a reality, thanks to the combined efforts of two Cumbrian businesses. The students of Razzamataz South Lakes are gearing up for an educational enrichment trip to Dubai, organised by the Razzamataz Theatre Schools network. The trip has been made possible thanks to the fundraising efforts of the team and families from the South Lakes school, together with a very generous £3,000 sponsorship from VL Aesthetics, a clinic in Carlisle, Cumbria, that offers a range of aesthetic treatments for face, body, medical, and wellbeing.

Not only will the students explore the vast and enriching culture of Dubai, but they have also been asked to demonstrate their talent with a performance opportunity to educational leaders from across the world. For the three young students who will be travelling, the trip is potentially life changing, exposing them to possibilities beyond their imaginations.

“At VL Aesthetics, we believe in the power of the arts to transform lives,” says Lana and Vanessa Brown, Directors at VL Aesthetics. “Since the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have focused our efforts on supporting children from underprivileged backgrounds in Cumbria. We are deeply committed to nurturing their potential through music, dance, singing, and other creative pursuits, knowing that these experiences are crucial for their confidence and communication skills.

“We are truly honoured to sponsor three incredible young talents from Cumbria who will soon embark on a remarkable journey to Dubai. This opportunity to perform on an international stage is a testament to their hard work and dedication. We are confident that this experience will inspire them to dream bigger and reach higher.”

The sponsorship is allowing the students the opportunity to participate in the trip taking place in November and will see them visiting cultural places of importance such as the magnificent Dubai Opera House, where world-class performances come to life and explore the future at the Museum of the Future, providing a platform for learning about cutting-edge technologies, scientific advancements, and emerging trends that are shaping the future of humanity.

“The trip is being carefully planned and curated to ignite the imaginations of our students to enable them to reach their full potential and possibly become tomorrow’s leaders,” explains Denise Gosney, MD and Founder of Razzamataz Theatre Schools. “From the rich history and heritage of old Dubai from a humble trading port to a bustling metropolis through to a selection of famous landmarks, we hope to inspire these young people to develop a deeper world view, without limitations.”

The Razzamataz team are incredibly grateful to Lana and Vanessa for sharing the belief that all young people should have the chance to dream and achieve beyond their circumstances. “Their support has been instrumental in making this trip possible for these Cumbrian students, providing opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom,” adds Denise. “By exposing students to diverse cultures and experiences, Razzamataz aims to cultivate not only artistic talents but also the confidence and ambition to pursue their goals fearlessly. This journey is more than just an educational trip; it’s a chance to broaden horizons and empower the next generation to think big and dream even bigger.”

The Razzamataz team are putting the final preparations to the trip to Dubai and students are looking forward to preparing for their performance. The adventure is just one of the exciting events that students from across the UK can participate in. Previously there have been trips to London to perform in West End theatres and London’s 02, a trip to New York where students participated in workshops with Broadway stars and in 2025, students will once again be returning to Disneyland Paris to lead the parade at this iconic wonderland.

“Next year we celebrate 25 years of Razzamataz and we have some wonderful experiences planned for our students and also our franchisees,” adds Denise. “We will be celebrating in style with our network with an incredible dinner dance at The Eiffel Tower, Paris and many other unique opportunities for students.”
