Here at The Family Business Network we have been celebrating the amazing achievements of women in family businesses since our inception.
We need no excuse to champion the people that work within our fabulous, diverse sector so for International Women’s Day on Monday 8th March, we will be shining the spotlight on a variety of women from our ‘FamBiz’ community across the UK.
From family business owners and leaders, to next gen successors and those who have recently joined their family business, we have enjoyed hearing the personal perspectives, experiences and advice on what it means to be a woman within a family business.
Sue Howorth, Co-Director of The Family Business Network said, “We’ve been overwhelmed by the response that we’ve received when we reached out to women from within the Network.
“It’s been fantastic simply to just get back in touch with those who we haven’t spoken to or seen for a while. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to draw out some of the influential voices and expertise from our family business community to help inspire future generations of women in family business”.
We asked women from our Network to answer a number of questions including:
- Have you personally faced any challenges working in a male dominated sector?
- What one piece of advice would you give to a next generation female stepping into a similar career path to yourself?
- What qualities do you think make a good businesswoman?
We will be posting the answers, comments and advice across our social media network throughout International Women’s Day on Monday.
