The Family Business Network has announced an extended partnership with commercial insurance risk advisory and broking business, Marsh Commercial.
Almost twelve months on from the creation of their original business partnership, The Family Business Network and Marsh Commercial are developing their collaborative activities further to a wider geographical family business audience. The partnership began within Cumbria and the North East and now extends across the wider Humberside region.
The two organisations recognise that their shared aspirations to learn, support and engage with regional family businesses offer great opportunities for themselves, their clients and the family business sector.
Dave Clarkson, Co-Director of The Family Business Network said, “We’re delighted to be extending our partnership with Marsh Commercial to include the wider Humberside region. We’ve found some innovative ways to work with their regional teams that will support and benefit family businesses across those areas.”
With the Family Business Network set to launch their very first Yorkshire and Humberside Family Business Awards later this year, the timing was perfect for the regional office of Marsh Commercial to get involved.
Daniel Schofield, Regional Director for Humber, Lincoln & York at Marsh Commercial (pictured) said, “We’re really looking forward to being a key part of the Yorkshire & Humberside Family Business Awards from the start, to celebrate the successes of family firms within our region.”
Daniel added, “Getting involved with the Advisory Board and Peer Group programmes run by The Family Business Network have been a great opportunity for us; allowing us to use our specialist risk based advisory expertise to help family businesses. It’s really a win-win situation as not only do family business owners gain support to help them develop and grow their businesses, we also gain valuable additional insight and understanding into the unique challenges that family firms can face.”
Joshua Kelly, Development Leader for Marsh Commercial in Humber, York and Lincoln will also be involved in the running of the Family Business Peer Group programme, saying, “In my role for Marsh Commercial, I act as the first point of contact for our clients and look at how we can help them and their business. Being a part of the Peer Group Programme is a good way for me to be able to further integrate into our regional business community.”
Co-Director of The Family Business Network, Sue Howorth added, “We look to our partners for their trusted advice and specialist knowledge on behalf of our community of family businesses. A great example of this is through our Family Business Programmes. This year we’re pleased to welcome Daniel Schofield from the Humber, York & Lincoln branches of Marsh Commercial as an Advisory Board member, where he will be offering the benefit of his experience to help support regional family business owners”.
