Keswick-based self-catering cottage company Sally’s Cottages has recently been sold to Travel Chapter, known nationally for its flagship brand holidaycottages.co.uk.
Sally said: “This year is looking amazing for bookings and I very much hope this will continue going forward, after what has been a very challenging 15 months. Going into next year with Travel Chapter at the helm will mean that there will be funds to safeguard all the jobs of the team here. There will also be the financial reserves to support the marketing of all the cottages, meaning that Sally’s Cottages can continue to be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.”
Sally’s Cottages chose Travel Chapter because, whilst they have a national presence, their origins as a regional agency mean they remain a company that has the same beliefs and values as Sally’s: integrity, friendliness and simplicity. Travel Chapter plan to keep everything running at Sally’s Cottages as it always has done, with the same people and offices, and with Sally’s Cottages now becoming their core brand in the Lake District and surrounding area.
Jayne McClure, CEO of Travel Chapter, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Sally’s Cottages to the Travel Chapter family. We’ve long admired the brand that Sally and the team have created, as well as the great ethos and service they’ve delivered for many years. We’re very pleased that both Sally and her husband Rob have chosen us to take the business forward. The last year has been hard for many in the industry and we’re looking forward to continuing the business in what should, hopefully continue to be a more encouraging year for tourism ahead.
“It remains very much business as usual, with the team and offices continuing to be there for the Sally’s Cottages guests and owners as they always have been in both Keswick and Windermere.
“In time, we will integrate further to allow the properties to also appear across our network of websites, including holidaycottages.co.uk, which will allow even more guests to discover the beautiful properties that Sally’s Cottages have to offer.”
“It will be exciting to see where Sally’s Cottages can go with the support of Travel Chapter,” adds Sally.
Sally’s Cottages has 23 members of staff – all of whom will keep their jobs – and works with hundreds of freelancers across Cumbria, including cleaners and maintenance people.
