A Cumbrian family business specialising in print and design has appointed a new Print Room Coordinator to run the team’s digital printing services, and the production of high quality print design and finishing.

Dawn Rawlins, who is new to the industry, will receive internal and external training to bring her up to speed on the high quality printing and attention to detail that Cerberus, based in Kirkby Stephen, has become renowned for since its inception over 30 years ago.

Cerberus received match funding from the Cumbria Growth Hub in 2018 to develop their website and marketing strategy. This contributed to a steady increase in sales over the past year which led to the company being in the position to take on a new employee.

The business also diversified from traditional print to offer additional services such Giclee printing for the fine art market.

In her new role, Dawn brings her experience in delivering outstanding customer service from her previous job at a local pub & restaurant. She also brings her creativity from supporting the running of her family’s business, the Flower Basket florist in Appleby.

On Dawn’s appointment, Tom Burnham, Business Manager at Cerberus said, “The primary reason for creating the role was to increase efficiency in our production processes and allow us to turnaround work more quickly. This will bring us in line with the turnaround times offered by larger online printers. Dawn’s arrival comes at a good time as we look set to have our busiest pre-Christmas period to date.”

Some of Cerberus Printing’s recent projects include design and print for The Black Bull coaching inn in Sedbergh and The Black Swan Hotel in Ravenstonedale, as well as a raft of bespoke wedding stationery design and print jobs for individual customers.

Cerberus Printing’s studio is in Skywalk House on South Road in Kirkby Stephen.
