“THE WAIT IS OVER, FINALISTS FOR THE NORTH WEST FAMILY BUSINESS AWARDS 2023 ARE NAMED”
The North West region has come together to send in their applications for the upcoming North West Family Business Awards – and with much anticipation, the list of deserving finalists has been revealed, celebrating the remarkable businesses and individuals across the region.
The North West Family Business Awards, organised by The Family Business Community champions family firms from across the region, recognising their achievements and celebrating their successes in style.
Sue Howorth, Co-Founder of The Family Business Community said, “We have been absolutely blown away by the sheer volume of outstanding award entries that came our way, our judges were presented with some of the most inspiring and impressive submissions imaginable, making for a truly challenging selection process.
Our finalists should feel incredibly proud of the hard work, commitment, and creativity which have taken them to the shortlist. In addition, we are looking forward to revealing our agri-business finalists in the next few weeks, kindly sponsored by H&H Group.
Dave Clarkson, Co-Founder of The Family Business Community said, “The judges had an awe-inspiring task of selecting the finest entries, and we know it must have been challenging. The individuals who made the shortlist should feel incredibly proud of their accomplishments. Their dedication, talent, and hard work have impressed us beyond measure.
The Family Business Community is proud to be representing and celebrating these remarkable individuals and we hope you will join us in May in the celebration of the incredible achievements of family businesses within the North West.”
The highly anticipated judging day took place on 3rd March and saw a group of 23 visionary leaders hailing from diverse sectors across the North West uniting to review the submissions. The event was graciously hosted by the team at Siemens PLC near Manchester. This annual event is a highlight within the awards process, and the judges were thrilled to come together in one location. Sue Bagguley from Siemens PLC is also one of the judges and said: “We were honoured to host the judging team again at our HQ as it brings together a very special group of people. It was a privilege to use our experience to help choose the winners and celebrate the best of the best.”
The process of reviewing and selecting this year’s entries proved to be challenging and rewarding for the judges, due to their high calibre. Their criteria included ensuring that the businesses demonstrated a strong strategy, a dedication to providing excellent service, solid business values and efficient communication practices. There were over 15 categories available for entries, which included sector-specific categories and the People’s Choice and Employee of the Year Awards, which are decided by both public votes and judges’ scores.
According to Joel Topham, Business Advisory Director of Sagars Accountants – an AAB Group Company, Judge and sponsor of the Construction, Property & Engineering Award, “It was great to be part of the judging day for the North West Family Business Awards and read about the amazing achievements and journeys these Family Businesses have been on. The standard of entries was incredible, and it was so inspiring to hear all the different stories that have shaped the business landscape in the North West, which made it really difficult to judge them. I can’t wait to meet some of the shortlisted businesses on the judge’s visits.”
The finalists will now be invited to the awards ceremony, an event which is becoming one of the most popular dates on the Business Awards calendar. The North West Family Business Award Ceremony will soar to new heights on 19th May 2023 at the unique Concorde Conference Centre, Manchester.
You don’t need to be a finalist to join the celebrations as tickets for the prestigious awards ceremony are now on sale via the North West Family Business Awards website. As well as meeting the most exceptional family businesses from across the North West, you’ll enjoy a fun and vibrant evening of entertainment and awards.
