Family Business Network to host insight event at fourth generation dairy farm

On 8th May, The Family Business Network will be hosting a special family business insight event at the Lincolnshire Poacher Cheese business at Ulceby Grange Farm in Alford, Lincolnshire.

The insight event, in partnership with Langleys Solicitors will explore the story of the business as told by fourth generation family member, Tim Jones, who runs the farm alongside brother Simon. The farm has been in the family since 1917 and went into dairying in 1970, but it wasn’t until 1992 when the first batch of cheese was made on the premises.  The cheese proved so popular that it changed the focus of the farm business altogether. Now the vast majority of the farm’s milk is being turned into Lincolnshire Poacher Cheese.

On the day, guests will be invited to join the family at the farm which is situated on the edge of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds to hear about the history of this fascinating family business, take a tour, enjoy a light lunch/ refreshments and participate in a topical discussion/ Q&A.

Sue Howorth, founder of The Family Business Network said, “Myself and Dave Clarkson from Langleys Solicitors are really excited to be able to offer this special insight day at Ulceby Grange Farm. The family story behind the business is just fascinating and it’s rather inspiring to see how diversification has developed the farm into the business that it is today. We hope that other family business owners and leaders will want to join us for the morning on 8th May, for a relaxed and engaging event that will offer experiences of value for like-minded peers”.
